Good Win.

Exciting game last night for the UC Bearcats. Got the much needed victory 92-88, should have been closer to a 15 point win but the pathetic free throw shooting (20-41) made it close. The Cashmere Wright that I thought we were getting finally showed up last night..he was really impressive. 24 pts, 5 assists, 4 boards, 3 steals, 0 turnovers. It was a good win but there's no time to rejoice, tough road game at Notre Dame thursday night.

Woke up this morning about 10:30, turned on the TV and caught the end of the first Matrix. Currently watching the second one now. I personally love these movies, the third one's on after this but there's a possibility I'm subbing in for an intramural team so we'll see if I can watch that.

Going to comedian performance tonight for the first time in my 19 years of living. Jeff Dunham, the man is funny.

My sources are telling me that shortstop Orlando Cabrera will sign a 1 yr contract with the Reds. If this does come true, this is a huge pickup. Getting more and more excited about the upcoming baseball season.

My Apologies.

I would like to apologize for my readers for not posting in awhile, had a lot of school work to attend to this week..at least my last class of the week was cancelled.

Kurt Warner officially retired today. I'll always remember him for his days with the St. Louis Rams. The greatest show on turf. Remarkable career, for sure hall of famer.

How about Devan Downey the other night? Wow. While I still think Kentucky is the best team in the nation, Downey put on quite a show.

Big game tomorrow night for the UC Bearcats against Providence. We need every win we can get now. This is a very a winnable home game, essentially another must win.

Played basketball at the rec center tonight, not a big crowd there. Played two games of three on three, won both. Came up with a team of five to take on five guys that played varsity basketball at Holy Cross in Kentucky last year. All of them were my height or taller, great athletes. We gave them a pretty close fight the first game...16-14, fair game, just had more talent that us. Second game pissed me off, and our entire team. We were playing really well, up 12-9..they started cheating, so badly. I'm not one to make excuses but it was really annoying. They were just afraid to lose. We should have held onto the lead but it's hard when you're beating cheated and they are just more talented. Lost 16-15, so much for win by two..seriously hate that rule but whatever. Bitter end to the night but can't complain too much, had fun...I guess. Can't wait to get back on the court, who knows when that'll be.

Success.

I'd like to apologize for misinforming my readers. Earlier today I stated I would not play basketball tonight..lets just say I changed my mind. Glad I did. Played with Rob, Farfsing, Alex, and Paul. We sucked the first game, lost 16-14. Didn't look back from there. Two and a half hours later we finished. Went 5-1 on the night. Exhausted now but it was worth it. Shoulder felt fine, a little sore now but nothin' too bad. This might have been the best team we've had down at the rec..it's a lot of fun winning down there. It was a successful day at the gym.

Price of Admission.

I saw the Book of Eli this weekend. Denzel Washington was a beast, like always. The ending was unsatisfying but overall it was a good movie. As my friend and I were walking out of the movie, roughly around 10:00..we noticed there was a really long line waiting to get in to a movie. She was confused what movie it was, and that got me thinking what movie could possibly be creating this commotion. Well, it was a movie that has been out for awhile..Avatar. That got me googling statistics on the overall profit of the movie, it has a legit shot of taking down Titanic as the number #1 movie (sales) ever made. Check it out.

Slow night at work Monday so we ended up watching the Syracuse-Georgetown basketball game. While watching the game I decided that sometime in the next four years I would love to attend the Big East Tournament. One full week of Big East basketball games, in New York...it'd be worth the price of admission.

Watched Mighty Ducks last night after work, absolutely classic. D2 tonight.

Woke up this morning and the elbow/shoulder was feeling good. I want to play basketball later tonight but I think I'll wait a couple more days; don't wanna rush the comeback and risk further damage.

This weather sucks. Windy, cold, raining, snowing, cloudy. It's a pain walking to classes, at least I'm going to class.

Frustrating.

It's frustrating watching the Cincinnati Bearcats play basketball. They show glimpses of greatness but never seem to be able to play consistent enough. Lance Stephenson today had 12 points in the first four minutes, ended up with 12. It's not like he wasn't shooting well, he only attempted one shot after his hot start. I miss the glory days.

Got hurt pretty bad playing basketball friday night. Messed up my shoulder/elbow..out for a week probably.

Bengals should be playing today vs the Colts.

UC football lost a commitment to Michigan minutes ago.

Bad weekend for Bucky's sports.

Where Amazing Happens.

Quick Note: I have made the comment section open to everyone, feel free to post comments.

Good win by the UC Bearcats last night. They defeated South Florida 78-70. It's relieving to know that we can win without Lance Stephenson, but I definitely feel more comfortable with 'Born Ready' in the lineup.

Sad to say, I lost at the rec center tonight. This loss ends the streak at 14 in a row. We lost our first game down there today, 16-15...so much for win by 2. We end up getting two new teammates and beat up on some frat boys; had a record of 2-1 on the night so not that bad.

Currently watching Lebron-Kobe on TNT, tune in if you wanna see some great one-on-one basketball. Personally I do not think the Cavaliers can't beat the Lakers in a 7 game playoff series. But maybe I am wrong, they seem to be holding their own so far. And wow as I type this game is getting even better...NBA, where amazing happens.

Following the Lakers-Cavs game, my Nuggets are on TV too. Thankfully the Nuggets seem to be on TNT or ESPN a lot, it makes it easy to watch them...sometimes bootleg internet feeds can get annoying.

Glad it's going to be friday tomorrow. I'm excited for some college basketball and NFL playoffs game this weekend. Me and four buddies are finalizing a house tomorrow for next year. Great, safe location. By far the best house we've seen, I'm excited to move in with these guys. While I'm excited, it's a lot of responsibility. I'm ready for it, we're ready for it.

Breaking News.

Breaking News: Lance Stephenson will not be playing tonight vs. South Florida. My sources inside the UC basketball organization have told me he sprained his ankle yesterday in practice and could miss up to two weeks. You won't find this anywhere else, it's not public knowledge, yet. I guess we will find out how good this team really is without him, tonight is a business game...a game we should win on paper, just gotta take care of the business.

Went 5-0, again at the rec yesterday. Streak is now up to an impressive 14 games in a row. Extremely tired today, taking a couple days off to recover. For those who don't know how pick up games work down at UC; the winners of the game stay on the court and take on the next team waiting to play. Playing five games in a row is tough, it's exhausting.

Short post today, lots of homework to do before the game tonight.

Gotta Love It.

Australian Open (tennis) has officially started. Gotta love late night tennis matches on ESPN 2. I look for Federer to continue his dominance and win the first major of the year.

Shout-out to former Bob Huggins assistant Frank Martin. His boys at Kansas State knocked off #1 Texas...My new top five in college basketball: 1. Kentucky 2. Kansas 3. Texas 4. Syracuse 5. Villanova

Won five games of basketball in a row at the rec center monday, the overall streak is now up to nine games.

24 if off and running for its eighth season. I was slightly confused at first because they were portraying Jack Bauer as a soft, grandpa...that didn't last long. I'm excited for this season.

Anyone else ready for some Cincinnati Reds baseball this summer? I always seem to think that every year is THE year for my Reds, but trust me...this year is the year ;)

Friendly Reminder.

Yesterday I was reminded how dominant the Big East is in NCAA basketball. Yes, they might not have the best overall team but I firmly believe they have the best overall conference. Pitt beats Louisville in overtime, UC beats Notre Dame by 2, and Syracuse beats West Virginia by 1. each of these games came down to the last possession.

Boring NFL playoffs? Seriously, with the exception of one game...Green Bay-Arizona, these NFL games this year haven't really been fun to watch. I found myself watching college basketball over NFL games yesterday. Next weeks match-ups should be good, I'm personally looking forward to a Saints-Vikings game.

How about that UC game yesterday, yeah buddy! Great atmosphere, biggest crowd of the year by far. Butch Jones got introduced at halftime, getting great vibes from this man. Best part of his speech was when he was like...'now the smartest man on our staff who left notre dame to come back here!"...crowd went nuts. Really hard fought game for both teams, really physical. UC finally came through in the clutch, for once!

Side note, 24 starts tonight, the best show out there in television. 2 hours season premiere followed by another 2 hour special tomorrow night. Jack Bauer is the man.

Derek Who?

Tennessee is reportedly about to hire Louisiana Tech coach Derek Dooley? Ummmmmm, never heard of the guy. Not that I really care but I think Tennessee can do better.

Saw half of the UC men's basketball team at BW3's last night..Yancy does not need to be eating any wings.

Mini-Milestone yesterday at the UC rec center for me. Won four straight games. Two is pretty good, but four is usually unheard of. Winners stay on the court so we were exhausted by the end of the fourth game, well...I was exhausted in the middle of the first. Ended our streaking by telling the team that challenged us we were all heading to dinner, we would have beat them too, already had earlier in the night.

Lots of good TV on tomorrow (Saturday,) NFL playoff games along with several good college basketball games including the UC-Notre Dame match up. Must win for the Bearcats.

Now or Never.

Well I'm finally starting a blog thanks to pressure from several people, thanks Dad. Unfortunately I am starting out with ranting about my Cincinnati Bearcat basketball team.

I'm sick of hearing excuses from Mick Cronin.

"We're a young team."
"Mike Williams will help us tremendously. "
"The loss of Cashmere really hurt, he'll help out when he's healthy."
"Once Ibrihiama Thomas is eligible."

B.S.

No Mick, once you learn how to coach, or once you leave...that's when Cincinnati Basketball will be back. Maybe this team needs to go old school and be banned from the locker-room or something. Last night I saw a team lose that was up three with thirty seconds left, and they had the ball! I saw a team that had more turnovers (21) than combined free throws (10) and three pointers made (0.) Pathetic.

This Saturday's game against the Coach Stealing Catholic School, Nodre Lame is a MUST WIN. It's a must win this team wants to make the NCAA Tourney and it's a must win if Mick Cronin wants to keep his job.
