Too Young.

The 2010 Winter Olympic Games have officially started, not without some tragic event. Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvi was killed on a practice run just two days before he was suppose to compete in his event. I did not agree with NBC's decision to show the video of his crash, they later apologized for it and stated they wouldn't show the video again. It kind of put the rest of the country of Georgia in a bad spot. During the opening ceremonies, the shots of the country were gut wrenching. All eleven members parading in for the country were stone faced. No expressions of happiness whatsoever. That's not how it should have been for those athletes and coaches that put in all the training to get there. Nodark Kumaritashvi was 21 when he lost control of his sled, and lost his life. As the president of Georgia said, an athlete's mistake should not be the lost of life. The man was too young. You better believe that I'll be rooting for every Georgian in every competition, even if they are going up against Americans.

Not really sure how to make a smooth transition from that to talking about other things, sooooo, ummmmm....how about them Bearcats yesterday? Huge win on the road against Uconn. The team really stepped up in a must win game. Can't celebrate too much, road game against a dangerous South Florida team tuesday night.

The Cincinati Enquirer sucks. Period. They describe Xavier's victory yesterday, as an NCAA tournament resume builder. Claimed Florida to be a 'Powerhouse.' Congrats to Jordan Crawford for getting his 18 points, only took him 19 shots to get him there!

Speed skating finals last night were pretty intense; gotta thank the Korean for handing us the silver and bronze medal. It's going to be an exciting olympics, for sure.

How boring were the NBA events last night? Pathetic. Hopefully the actual all-star game is more exciting than the dunk and horse competition.

Another epic Big East basketball game took place friday night. Pittsburgh knocked off West Virginia in triple overtime. Unlike most multi-overtime games both teams were making shots to force other overtimes. Just another Big East epic game.

That is the Truth.
